Robin Thicke on VMAs with Miley Cyrus: “Let’s Make Them Talk”

Failing to see why there's so much harsh criticism, Robin Thicke spoke about his controversial VMA performance with Miley Cyrus in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

In an interview taking place the day after the MTV stage show, the "Blurred Lines" singer explained, " I spent my whole career playing it safe, being a gentleman, never doing anything controversial. They told me [beforehand] that Miley's going to take her clothes off and dance around and she might bend over…I just said, I don't care, let's entertain the people."

Also hoping to create buzz, the 36-year-old crooner added, "Let's give them something they're not ready for. Let's make them talk."

The network is about to get another dose of Thicke as he's nominated for Best Song and the World Stage Award at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
