Enjoying some time with her daughter before heading to school, Katie Holmes stepped out in Manhattan on Friday (September 27).

The "Dawson's Creek" beauty wore a cute sweater with star print as she headed out of Suri's school.

Recently, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Miss Holmes is the latest to join the cast of "The Giver," a film inspired by Lois Lowry's young-adult novel.

Katie will star alongside Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep and possibly Taylor Swift.

Rumors continue to circulate that the country singer will also take part in the production. HuffPost Entertainment has reached out to Taylor's rep about the subject, but has not heard back at this time.
