After an 11-year marriage, Richard Gere and Carey Lowell are calling it quits.

A friend of the former pair confirmed the news to People, stating, "They'll do everything possible to keep things amicable and put their child first."

Gere’s rep did not comment on the news, though according to previous reports the split is not a shock.

The 64-year-old actor reportedly lived separately from Lowell at their home in Bedford, NY.

Richard and Carey tied the knot back in 2002 after dating for seven years. They have one son together, Home who was born back in 2000.
