She’s a huge fan of the legendary author Jane Austen, and earlier this year Kelly Clarkson purchased a ring worn by the writer at an auction in the UK.
However, Mother England was keen to hold onto the prized item, and the British Government placed an export ban on the ring to keep the “Since You’ve Been Gone” songstress from taking it back to the States.
Now, a Jane Austen museum has raised over $250,000 to buy the ring from Clarkson after starting a campaign last month.
Unfortunately for Kelly, the Jane Austen House Museum will now assume ownership of the gold and turquoise jewelry, though she’ll still be able to visit the piece on display.
