Chris Hemsworth Talks Brother Liam Hemsworth & “Thor” Competition on “Ellen”

He’s been busy promoting his new movie “Rush” as of late, and Chris Hemsworth dropped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday (September 17) for a lovely chat.

The “Snow White and the Huntsman” hunk discussed his brother Liam Hemsworth's tendency as a paparazzi magnet in the wake of his split with Miley Cyrus.

Ellen began, "He seems to get lots and lots of attention as far as paparazzi and partially that was because of the relationship that he's been in. You don't have that kind of paparazzi frenzy around you right now, do you?"

Chris replied, "I'm lucky. I've spoken to a few people about it. I don't know that you can ever . . . It's sort of is what it is. At times you're a target and at times you're not. If you have a film coming out or who you are dating and what have you . . . but um, we've been lucky, my wife and I.”

"We kind of live a pretty simple boring kind of life. We're not rolling out of clubs at 4 in the morning. Not to say that Liam is by the way . . . I mean he has once or twice.”

Hemsworth also mentioned that he and his brother were both up for the role of “Thor” at one point. “I had an audition before Liam and didn’t get a callback, and that was it. And then like a month later Liam called me up and said, ‘I’m down to the final four people,’ and I said, ‘Cool I’ll help you with the audition,’ and boycotted that audition, and he didn’t get the part. And then I got in.”
