It's been a long wait for new music from Lady Gaga and few are as excited about it as the pop star herself, who began a countdown to the release of her first single off her upcoming album.

On Monday (August 5), the "Born This Way" singer tweeted, "Applause 8.19 #14days," followed by an image promoting her record, featuring the artist formerly known as Stefani Germanotta holding a prosthetic arm in platform shoes, black pants, and nothing else.

Last week, the 27-year-old songstress posted a few pics of her work in the studio, sharing one of herself in a black brassiere and tiny denim cutoffs with members of the band "She Wants Revenge."

Back to social media with a vengence, Gaga has also been using her Twitter account to promote her new mobile app, tweeting, "The ARTPOP app is Free, available in App Stores on your device. You can purchase the music through the ARTPOP app once it's downloaded."
