Broaching the controversial topic of slavery in America, “12 Years a Slave” has just released a brand new teaser trailer.

The much-anticipated flick boasts a cast that includes Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Paul Dano, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Paul Giamatti, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

“12 Years a Slave” is slated to hit theaters in limited release on October 18th, though there may be a wider launch thereafter, depending on audience response.

Per the synopsis, “A free black man named Solomon Northup is abducted and sold into slavery. He endures unspeakable cruelty as he struggles for survival and liberty.”
