Their family isn’t exactly picture perfect, so it’s not that surprising that Beyoncé Knowles and her sister Solange Knowles declined to attend their father Matthew Knowles’ recent wedding.

According to the 61-year-old patriarch, career duties precluded his girls from witnessing his vows to longtime girlfriend Gena Avery on June 30th in Houston, Texas.

Matthew told press, "Unfortunately, Beyoncé and Solange had previous engagements which made it impossible for them to attend."

In their defense, Beyonce is in the middle of her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour and Solange had a gig at the Glastonbury Festival.

Back in 2011, the “Crazy in Love” songstress fired Mr. Knowles as her manager. She told press,
"I've only parted ways with my father on a business level. He is my father for life, and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother."
