Despite a photo of “The East” costars canoodling that has been circulating via social media (thanks to director Zal Batmanglij), the two are just friends.

An inside source assured press that Alex and Ellen do enjoy each other’s company and have had a blast promoting the indie flick in recent weeks.

However, they aren’t the hottest new Tinseltown twosome, even if they do look adorable together!
