It’s no secret that sex sells, however Trekkies have been complaining about an unnecessary shot of Alice Eve in her underwear in the newly-released “Star Trek Into Darkness.”
Therefore, director JJ Abrams answered the criticism with an equally-as-gratuitous deleted scene involving Benedict Cumberbatch’s character taking a shower.
During his interview on “Conan,” Abrams noted, "I don't think I quite edited the scene in the right way. Some people did feel like it was exploiting [Eve]. While she is lovely, I can see their point of view."
"We had a scene with [Cumberbatch] where we saw him actually taking a shower. It's not in the movie, but we had this. It's one of those things that we ended up cutting."
