Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth Pay the Piper in Court

After an embarrassing arrest last month for DUI and disorderly conduct, Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth had their day in court on Thursday (May 2).

According to TMZ, the "Legally Blonde" star pled no contest to her charge, via attorney Bruce Morris, for which she will pay a $213 fine.

As for her hubby, he accepted full responsibility, pleading guilty and appearing personally before the judge. After being warned by the judge, "Consider yourself fortunate you didn't injure your passenger [Reese] and didn't kill anyone," he was ordered to perform 40 hours of community service and attend an alcohol education class. Also, he'll be on probation for 12 months.

Today on "Good Morning America," the 37-year-old actress spoke about the incident, explaining, "We went out to dinner in Atlanta, had one too many glasses of wine. We thought we were fine to drive and we absolutely were not. And it's just completely unacceptable. And we are so sorry and embarrassed. And we know better." Later, she added, "I have to say that's the hardest part about it. Having to tell our kids."
