Report: Jamie Foxx in Talks to be the New Daddy Warbucks

Hoping to add another project to his already impressive resume, Jamie Foxx is looking to nab a role in the upcoming musical adaptation of "Annie."

According to The Hollywood Reporter on Monday (April 29), the "White House Down" actor is in talks to play the lead role of Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks, which will be renamed Benjamin Stacks.

The original story of "Little Orphan Annie" was based on a daily comic strip of a little girl who escaped an orphanage and was taken in by the wealthy Daddy Warbucks.

"Annie," which will also star Quvenzhané Wallis, will be produced by James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Will Smith, and is set to hit theaters on December 25, 2014.
