Jake Gyllenhaal’s Rainy Day Monday

Running some errands on a rainy day in the Big Apple, Jake Gyllenhaal was out and about in New York City on Monday (April 29).

Shielding himself from the showers in a hooded raincoat over olive green cargo pants, the “Love and Other Drugs” hunk blended in with the rest of the folks on the busy sidewalks.

Though the 32-year-old is not in the new film version of “The Great Gatsby,” he has been tapped to narrate the audio book of the classic.

In the narrative of the F. Scott Fitzgerald-penned novel, Jake voices Nick Carraway, the World War 1 veteran who rents a small cottage next door to millionaire Jay Gatsby.

Of working with the Los Angeles native, the audio editor raved "Gyllenhaal treats it with the utmost respect, allowing the vivid descriptions of mansions, landmarks, and 1920s New York to flow at just the right pace."
