Miley Cyrus’ Horse Stance Draws Fire from Industry

Lending her famous name to a cause she cares deeply for, Miley Cyrus has drawn fire from New York City carriage owners for her stance against the horse-drawn Big Apple fixtures.

On Tuesday (March 19), the “Party in the USA” songstress tweeted her support of a petition to free the horses, saying “NYC is just 761 signatures shy of 100,000 petition goal to #FreeTheHorsesNYC!”

Saturday (March 23), Tommy Doyle, a board member for the Carriage Operators of America fired back, telling TMZ "How many times has Miley spent with working horses? Does she even know what a healthy horse looks like? Has she been in the barn to see these animals?"

Mr. Doyle continued by saying all the animals are “properly tended to” and “very well taken care of” before offering the star an invitation to see the business up close.
