With her bodyguard close at hand, Britney Spears visited a friend in Beverly Hills on Saturday (January 19).

The former "X Factor" judge wore a short earth-toned halter dress with brown boots while she carried a gray sweatshirt in to her pal's home.

With her departure from the hit show, illness of her puppy Hannah, and recent split from fiancée Jason Trawick, some are wondering if the 31-year-old singer can keep it together and advance her career.

According to PEOPLE, an insider says that Brit is "definitely upset about the split," adding, "Britney is very insecure and has had a lot of trouble with jealousy. [She] is very worried about being alone. She is upset, but for a long time she has treated him like a friend, not a romantic partner."
