His recent money problems are well-documented, and now 50 Cent is looking to collect from longtime rival Rick Ross for allegedly ripping off his hit song “In Da Club” by placing it on a mix tape last month.
The financially-challenged rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, filed a two million dollar lawsuit in federal bankruptcy court in Connecticut on Wednesday (December 23), stating, "'In Da Club' is an iconic song that enhanced Jackson's fame and fueled the celebrity status he holds today.”
Furthermore, Ross altered the original song "by removing some but not all of Jackson's lyrics and performance, and then adding (his) own lyrics and performance. The new version is also a blatant commercial advertisement for [Ross’ new album] Black Market.”
