Adding to the plethora of marvelous new music as of late, Beyoncé Knowles has a new single called “Hymn For The Weekend,” a collaboration with the boys in Coldplay.
The new track first leaked on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show on Monday night (November 30) and now it’s all over the internet.
Coldplay bass player Guy Berryman explained, “Well we had a song idea. It actually started off being quite a different kind of vibe, this song. Chris was wanting to write a sort of party song, and the words were ‘drinks on me, drinks on me.’ We said to him, ‘look, you can’t say that, you can’t get away with that,’ and so the whole kind of story of the song changed and then um, he asked Beyonce to sing on it and she very kindly said she would. She came in, she did her thing, she was unbelievably professional. I think she was in and out within five minutes. We’re just so blessed to have her sing on one of our songs.”
