Amid all the wild behaviour at last night's MTV Movie Awards Fast and Furious 7 star Vin Diesel took things down a notch with some touching words (and lyrics) dedicated to his good friend and late actor Paul Walker.
The actor is a regular at the awards bash and you can always count on Diesel to present at least one gong on the night, though, until this year, the star was always joined by Walker.
Walking out on to the stage to Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's See You Again the 47-year-old, dressed in a black Fast and Furious tee, said: “Last time I stood on this stage, I was with my brother Pablo, so I love that little intro, you just played that song, that beautiful song.”
Caught up in the moment, the Guardians of the Galaxy star then burst into the song himself, singing: “It's been a long day without you my friend. And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again.” The actor then announced the award for Best Female Performance before presenting the award to Shailene Woodley.
See You Again also features at the end of Furious 7 and Diesel admitted the entire cast, and even his 4-year-old son, are big fans of the touching track. “Whenever Michelle, or Natalie or Tyreese are over at the house, he sings it for them and they start crying so it was a little homage to the little one at home.”
The actor also shared the music video to his Facebook page last week and once again dedicated it to Walker. “Pablo, this weekend you turned the world into a family… Thanks for the love…"
Diesel also opened up about the next Fast and Furious instalment. “Well, I was trying to keep it close to the vest throughout the release. Paul [Walker] used to say that eight was guaranteed. And in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you sometimes feel like you have to make sure it comes to pass,” he dished, before adding: “So if fate has it, fate..F8… if fate has it, then you'll get this when you hear about it. Seven was for Paul, eight is from Paul.”
