Tom Hanks was reunited with Wilson and it was beautiful

Tom Hanks' bromance with Wilson the football was one of the key factors in Cast Away becoming such a classic - and they've now, finally, been reunited.

The pair came face-to-painted face once again at a New York Rangers hockey game last night (February 5); with Tom appearing on the big-screen as someone reacquainted him with his long lost friend from the 15-year-old movie.

The Hollywood legend appeared thrilled to have found his own chum, although by the looks of it, it could do with being reinflated a tad. It certainly didn't look as perky as it did Back In The Day...

Hanks was widely acclaimed for his performance as Chuck Noland in the picture, which earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the Academy Awards, the BAFTAs and the Screen Actors Guild Award. He also won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama. Wilson, too, was not without recognition - picking up Best Inanimate Object at the 6th Critics' Choice Awards. Go Wilson!

It's been a big week for nostalgic reunions, after Jimmy Fallon managed to get most of the Saved By The Bill team back together for a special skit on his chat-show. Most of them, like Wilson, looked a little puffier but generally had aged spectacularly well.

Anyway, nice of Tom to take some time out from working on his new stories about typewriters (don't get too excited) to see some hockey, right...
