Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder might be taking their relationship to the next level. New reports as surfacing that the couple will be walking down the aisle soon, as they have now become engaged after dating for only six months.
The news has been reported by E! News, who claim that several sources have exclusively confirmed the news to them.
One of the sources details the couple's relationship, and explains how despite being together for only six months, Ian has actually "been in love with [her] for years" and that they actually only became an official couple six months ago, but knew each other long before that.
"They're so happy. They were crazy happy from the start. Their families love each other. It just feels really right," the source adds.

The insider forgot to add that the two actually bonded because they are both Vampires (okay, that's a joke… but it is still fun to fantasize about it since they both played Vampires).
The engagement probably won't come as a surprise to many, as the two have already started building their lives together. They've adopted several pets together, and have even started a production company together, which most couples don't do unless they're serious about their relationship. Ian spoke about the new production company earlier this week.
"Nikki and I are starting a production company and we're going to be able to tell even more stories that we really want to tell, everything from documentaries to TV shows to movies...all kinds of stuff,” he told E! News. "Having the success of a television show like [Vampire Diaries] really allows you to be able...now I get to start spreading my creative wings as well."

Although this is a great moment for Ian and Nikki, it's probably safe to say that Nian shippers, also known as fans that spend a lot of their time reminiscing about the good old days and who want Ian and Nina Dobrev to get back together, probably won't be too happy about the news. In fact, they could actually be devastated.
Who can blame them though? Ian and Nina were together for several years up until May 2013.
Nikki Reed also came out of a serious relationship prior to dating Ian. This will actually be Nikki Reed's second marriage as she ended things with American Idol's Paul McDonald in March 2014 after being married for two years.
Either way, let's hope that the happy couple have a vampire-themed wedding, and that they live happily ever after with little vampire babies.
