Bill Cosby’s Wife Speaks Out On Sexual Assault Allegations

Bill Cosby's longtime wife Camille Cosby has spoken out for the first time about the sexual assault allegations against her husband, whom she describes as a “kind man.”

The 77-year-old comedian has been accused of sexually assaulting, harassing and drugging around two dozen women, including former supermodels Janice Dickinson and Beverly Johnson, but Camille, who has been married to Cosby for 50 years, had so far remained silent on the mounting allegations.

For the first time, Camille has publicly spoken about the scandal, saying in a statement: “The man I met, and fell in love with, and whom I continue to love, is the man you all knew through his work. He is the man you thought you knew. A different man has been portrayed in the media over the last two months. It is the portrait of a man I do not know… None of us will ever want to be in the position of attacking a victim. But the question should be asked - who is the victim?”

In November, footage emerged from an interview with the Associated Press with Cosby and Camille to promote an art exhibit, but when the reporter asked the comedian about the allegations, he grew frustrated and scolded the journalist for bringing up the scandal. Camille sat beside Cosby during the uncomfortable interview but remained mostly silent.

On Friday, Cosby answered a phone call from a New York Post Page Six reporter who asked him about the accusations, prompting the iconic actor to ask that the “black media… uphold the standards of excellence in journalism” and use a “neutral mind” when reporting on the scandal.
