Mel B Was Rushed To Hospital ‘Screaming In Agony’

Mel B was forced to miss The X Factor final on Saturday night (Dec. 13) after she was rushed to hospital “screaming in agony” when she was struck down with a mystery illness.

The 39-year-old is believed to have been admitted to the high dependency unit of a London hospital on Thursday. After complaining of stomach cramps and writhing in pain her chaffer raced her to the emergency room whilst driving her back from Wembley's SSE Arena.

Sources told The Sun on Sunday that Mel “could have died” if it weren't for her quick thinking driver. Luckily the star is now in stable condition and is being tested for a suspected stomach ulcer and viruses to try and get to the root of the pain. A friend told the paper, “'Mel is in a terrible state, physically and emotionally. She is very weak and is being given treatment to help her with the pain.”

On Saturday, Mel's mother Andrea Brown, who has had a difficult relationship with her daughter in the past, tweeted, “Mother's worse nightmare to hear ur daughter's seriously ill in hosp and not know where to go!!”

The former Spice Girl's sudden illness meant she couldn't take her seat on the judging panel for Saturday's X Factor show, with former judge Tulisa Contostavlos taking her place. The N-Dubz star is also believed to be appearing on Sunday's final show. “Nobody thinks there is the tiniest chance of [Mel] making it back,” a source told the Sunday Mirror. “She is just far too fragile. Even if she was discharged from hospital today she wouldn't have the strength to appear.”

Simon Cowell is said to be “in shock” over Mel's sudden decline in health, with the source adding “Simon has admitted to being very, very worried about Mel. She is such a livewire - everyone is really stunned at how quickly this illness took hold of her. Simon is in shock - we are all in shock.”

And as yet another blow for fragile Mel, her contestant Andrea Faustini, lost out to Ben Haenow and Fleur East in her absence. The two remaining singers will battle it out to be crowned the winner of The X Factor 2014 during Sunday night's show.
