John Legend & Chrissy Teigen Hire Food Trucks For NYC Protesters

Rather than just complaining about injustice, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are putting their money where their mouths are.

The “All of Me” singer and his supermodel wife paid for food trucks to serve hungry protesters in Lincoln Square and Union Square over the weekend.

And it looks like their generosity was much appreciated, as one witness wrote, “Big thanks to @ophelporhush @johnlegend for feeding
thousands of activists/organizers/NYers today! #BlackLivesMatter.” Ms. Teigen also retweeted a message from the Operation Help or Hush organization to let folks know about the gravy train- “3-6pm. FREE food trucks by Trader Joe's Union Sq. @ophelporhush #FergusontoNYC #NYC2Ferguson.”

Among the food trucks were offerings from Milk Truck NYC and Kimchi Taco Truck. The Bipartisan report tweeted, “BREAKING: #johnlegend pays for a food truck in Lincoln sq to feed #EricGarner supporters before the #NYC protest.”

Mr. Legend previously posted, “50 years since Selma. Still marching. Listen to this song @common and I wrote for @SelmaMovie http://bit.ly/1zpPt1i,” to voice his support.
