Adding star power to the second season, HBO confirmed that Vince Vaughn is starring alongside Colin Farrell in “True Detective.”

According to the network, Farrell and Vaughn will star alongside each other as Ray Velcoro and Frank Semyon, respectively.

Colin’s character is “a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him,” while Vince’s character is “a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.”

In addition, Justin Lin will direct the first two episodes of the second season of HBO’s hit drama.
