With plenty of stage and screen credits to her name, Kristin Chenoweth has all the moxy she needs for her new role as Maleficent in Disney’s “Descendants.”

The “Pushing Daisies” dame will begin filming the adventure comedy this month, along with BooBoo Stewart, Sofia Carson and Dove Cameron.

Per the synopsis, “Descendants” introduces movie fans to the teenage kids of some of Disney’s most malevolent villains including Jafar, the Evil Queen and Cruella DeVille.

If all goes as planned, we’ll get to see “Descendants” on the Disney Channel sometime next year, though Angelina Jolie’s “Maleficent” hits theaters this month!
