“X-Men: Days of Future Past” Cast Covers Entertainment Weekly’s Summer Movie Preview Issue

With the action-packed flick "X-Men: Days of Future Past" slated to hit theaters next month, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Hugh Jackman front the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine.

Inside the publication, producer and writer of "X-Men: First Class" Simon Kinsberg discussed the superhero group's popularity and even shared details about the upcoming film.

"I think this is the biggest movie Fox has made that James Cameron didn't direct," Simon said of the flick.

Producer of the entire X-Men franchise Lauren Schular Donner chimed in, "We have to deliver, and that's really hard. Plus, we don't use guns, we use powers. The power is a visual effect. So by its very nature, it's going to be pricey."

Also discussing Miss Lawrence's character Mystique, Kinberg stated, "A lot of people have an emotional investment in her not going to the dark side."

In regards to the outcome of the film, Simon remarked, "The hope is that 'Days of Future Past' will broaden the audience for X-Men such that it will motivate potential spin-offs even more. Everyone grew up knowing Captain America or the Hulk, but not X-Men characters. I didn't even know who Wolverine was."

"I call X-Men the b*stard stepchild of the comic universe," he added.
