They’ve been busy on the promotional trail as of late, and Shailene Woodley and Theo James' latest stop was an interview on “Today” on Wednesday (March 12).

Given the success of the literary series already, the “Descendants” dame confessed she was glad to have a little artistic license with her role as Beatrice.

"I feel like if we tried to portray a character that everybody else wanted, it would have just been this mess of a human. When you're creating a movie, you're in the bubble of what that film is and you kind of forget that other people know about it."

As for the action-intensive scenes, Theo declared, “You get involved in it. If you don't kind of finish a day of stunts with lots of bruises, you feel like you haven't done it right."
