He’s come to the end of his 16-year reign on “The Daily Show,” and Jon Stewart had a tearful farewell during the final episode on Thursday night (August 6).
The much-beloved host announced, “I’ve got big news. This is it. This is the final episode,” before welcoming a slew of celebrity guests including Steve Carell, Ed Helms, Olivia Munn, and Stephen Colbert.
Carell gushed, "Becoming an international superstar is just something I did while waiting for my next assignment,” and Colbert followed with, “You are leaving us on a voyage to the dying lands. We owe you because we learned from you. You are infuriatingly good at your job." In closing, Jon proclaimed, "This is the most beautiful place I've ever been. I'll never have that again."
