They’ve been good friends for years and it seems there’s nothing off-limits for Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan.
The “X-Men” stars attended the premiere of “Mr. Holmes” in London, England on Wednesday night (June 10) and Patrick grabbed Ian and kissed him on the mouth to show his support for McKellen’s latest project. Stewart’s wife Suzy Ozell looked amused at the gesture and the shutterbugs went nuts.
Last year Patrick talked to press about his longtime friend, who is openly gay, and the uniqueness of their bond- “There are so many parallels in our careers and our lives. We’re both Northerners; He’s a Lancastrian and I’m a Yorkist, and he went to a great University but I left school when I was 15. But he was successful and became a star immediately. I saw him and I was amazed, overwhelmed by the quality of his work. I started our relationship as a fan. Bryan Singer cast us in the first X-Men movie and we had adjoining luxury trailers… We got to know one another and that’s when the bond began.”
