For the past year-and-a-half they’ve had one of the hottest and heaviest romances in Tinseltown, but now Charlize Theron and Sean Penn have reportedly broken off their relationship.
According to Us Weekly, the “Italian Job” actress split up with the “Mystic River” man after they returned from the Cannes Film Festival in May, telling close friends that their romance had “run its course.”
In April, Theron couldn’t say enough great things about Sean, telling Esquire, “I’m a very, very, very lucky girl. He is hot!” The previous year she told Vogue’s June 2014 edition, “I really didn’t see it coming. Sean and I have known each other for eighteen years. We were just really good friends. It kind of naturally happened, and before I knew it, I was in something that was making my life better.”
