John Bercow throws shade at Government front bench after victory in secret ballot vote

The speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow just survived a vote to change the rules on electing his position and his reaction was incredible as he stared at the government front bench, shock his head and pulled a few over exaggerated facial expressions that basically said "FU" to his enemies while reading out the result.

Usually it's the government and opposition slinging the mud, but this time it was the Speaker who was getting hot under the collar during the emotionally charged events that unfolded in Westminster today.

The house voted against the motion 228 to 202 after Tory MP William Hague had pushed for a secret ballot on the future of the Speaker after the election.

Labour said it was a dirty plot cooked up by David Cameron PM and Hague to unseat the Speaker, who is not popular with the Conservatives and it looks like Bercow agreed and he made no effort to hide his apparent hatred for those who want him out.


Earlier the speaker had told the house he wasn't "going anywhere" and from his face he felt pretty defiant in the face of an attempted coup to get rid of him.
