Jeremy Clarkson tells Twitter trolls to leave punched producer Osin Tymon alone

Sacked Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has spoken out for the first time since he was sensationally given the boot form the BBC this week. The shamed host has urged his millions of fans to leave punched producer Oison Tymon alone.

Sadly, it's taken the 54-year-old a while to fight Tymon's corner after whacking him in the face over a steak. A worryingly large proportion of the British public seemed to side with the TV personality over poor Tymon who has received an unfathomable backlash since the BBC confirmed they would not be renewing Clarkson's contract with the station, terminating his time on their most lucrative show.

Ambushed by reporters while he rode his bike in London yesterday, Clarkson said: “All I would like to say is I wish people would leave Ois alone, because none of this is his fault.”

Journalists then probed the star whether he was worried police would come knocking. Reports have claimed Clarkson could face police charges as Tymon needed hospital treatment following the attack at the Simonstone Hall Hotel in Yorkshire. The BBC's inquiry found that: “Oisin Tymon was shocked and distressed by the incident, and believed that he had lost his job,” and was rushed to A&E with swelling and bleeding to the mouth.

Thankfully the producer doesn't have a Twitter account so he may not have seen comments like this…

BBC controller Alan Yentob has revealed that despite the publicly funded corporations insisting that talent cannot come before extreme indecency, Clarkson could easily be reinstated in the future. “Of course I wouldn't rule that out, but that's not for now,” he said during an appearance on BBC's Radio 4.

Top Gear brings an estimated 5 million viewers on average on Sunday nights here in the UK, while across seas it's thought to bring a further £50 million through BBC World. It's unclear what lies ahead for the programme or its remaining presenters James May and Richard Hammond.

A spokesman for the BBC said: “No decision has been made. When we have an outcome, we will announce it.”
