We thought the closest Gwyneth Paltrow got to ecstasy was when she was eating organic or helping her fellow man, it seems the star isn't quite as clean cut as we first thought after she admitted on a recent TV appearance that she has taken ecstasy in the past.
Paltrow, 42, opened up about trying the drug on Thursday night's episode of Watch What Happens Live! Playing the show's infamous game of Plead the Fifth, which only allows her to refuse to answer one out of three personal questions, the mother-of-two dropped a serious bombshell.
The first question was about an essay that the blonde previously wrote about a frenemy, but after Paltrow revealed that the subject of the article wasn't famous, Cohen swiftly moved on. The next question saw the host ask who she would rather be stuck in a lift with -- Jennifer Garner or Angelina Jolie? The actress -- who is busy promoting her latest movie Mortdecai -- said that was closer to Garner, but picked Jolie because she would love to know more about the star.

The final question was probably the most personal question of all, with Cohen asking the Glee actress to name the hardest drug she's ever taken, to which she replied with a smile, "Ecstasy". Gwyneth, say what!?
We have admit, it's pretty hard to imagine the actress -- who is famed for her squeaky clean image -- doing drugs, all though she has hinted on a number of occasions in the past that she smokes, or atleast has smoked, marijuana. At the launch of her Goop app in 2013, the Iron Man star began the proceedings by saying, "I'm usually stoned, so this is weird." In an interview with Johnathon Ross in 2009, the star spoke about her friend Courtney Love's recovery from drug addiction. When asked if she still takes drugs, Gwyneth replied, "I don't think she's on Class A narcotics anymore. Maybe just Class C. That's not big deal - aren't we all!"
The Shakespeare In Love actress -- who famously 'consciously uncoupled' from her husband Chris Martin last year -- has been revealing a lot about her past as of late. Speaking on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show, Paltrow opened up about her ex partners Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck, revealing that Pitt, 50, was "too good" for her, and Affleck "wasn't in a good place in his life to have a girlfriend." Who knew Gwyneth had such a playful side? We have to admit, we're kind of liking Paltrow's candid new nature!
