Eminem Grants Terminally Ill Fan’s Final Wish After Twitter Campaign

Eminem has proven he can be a nice guy when it's the right situation by granting the final wish of a terminally ill fan after fans bombarded him with messages online to draw his attention to the teenager's condition and his desire to meet his idol.

The rapper kept his visit to 17-year-old Gage Garmo a secret, turning up at his home to surprise him but not wanting to cause a fuss. The teenager was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma - a rare form of bone cancer - and told he has just one week to live. His family and friends then began the hashtag #GetGageGarmoToMeetEminem to try and get his attention.

Just three days later the rapper arranged to Visit Gage at his home in Michigan - just twenty minutes from where the star lives. He then arrived at the house at around 5pm on Sunday after insisting he did not want the meeting to be a media frenzy. He spent roughly an hour with Gage chatting and generally hanging out together before he left, with the youngster delighted to have met his idol.

News of the meeting broke when Eminem's friend Royce da 5'9″ uploaded an image of Gage on Instagram and captioned it: “Mission accomplished. Bless this beautiful kid and thank you guys for all your hard work.”

Friends of Gage have spoken to My Fox Detroit about the youngster. One said: “He never had any sad or bad spirits about it, he was always so positive and that honestly kept us positive.”

Another added: “He always made me feel like I needed to be positive no matter what, it was something that was like better for him. He just wanted to see his friends happy no matter what he was going through."

Our thoughts are with Gage and all of his family and friends.
