These Prince George Christmas Photos Will Melt Your Heart!

Three Christmas photos of Prince George of Cambridge have been released by Prince William and Kate Middleton, the first official images of the Prince to be released since his first birthday.

The adorable 17-month-old was snapped smiling in the courtyard of Kensington Palace, as he prepares to celebrate his second Christmas. And the little prince has also become something of a style icon as thousands of shoppers rushed to purchase his navy Cath Kidston sweater vest which features marching guardsmen complete with bearskins and red tunics.

A steal at just £32, the item has sadly sold out, but the designer is considering re-releasing the jumper depending on demand. The rest of George's outfit was also surprisingly affordable, with his Rachel Riley shorts costing £49 and his mini Early Days shoes priced at £29.

The cute snaps were taken in late November by Prince Harry's private secretary Ed Lane Fox, who has also worked as a freelance photographer. And whilst the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge didn't give a reason for releasing the images, they are believed to be thank you to the media for allowing their son to grow up with some privacy.

The royal family last released images of the third-in-line to the throne on his first birthday in July, when he was shown at a butterfly exhibition at London's Natural History Museum. A spokesman for the royal couple said, “They release pictures when it feels appropriate and to mark milestones in Prince George's life.”

The next major milestone in George's life will be the birth of his little brother or sister, due in late April, but before that he'll have to celebrate his second Christmas with the Royal Family. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will spend part of the day at Sandringham in Norfolk with the Queen for Christmas lunch. But they will soon head back to their newly-renovated home, Anmer Hall where they will enjoy the rest of the days festivities with Kate's family.

An insider told Vanity Fair, “William and Kate are really excited about spending their first Christmas at their new country home. They plan to have lots of family and friends come to visit.”
