Miley Cyrus' go-to accessory of choice appears to be nipple pasties, but the star went one step further on Saturday night, sharing a snap of her bare chest to show her support for the “Free The Nipple” movement.
In the black and white photo the 22-year-old is seen lying on a bed, gazing wistfully into the distance whilst her left hand rests in between her fully exposed breasts. She captioned the image, "Some lame ass deff gonna [flag] that but f**kkkkkkk it. "#practicewhatchupreach #FreeTheNipple #FreedatS**t." And just as she had predicted, the photo was soon taken down by Instagram.

The #FreeTheNipple campaign, which aims to "decriminalize the female body" and "protest the backwards censorship laws in the US," has gathered a celebrity fanbase, including the likes of Rumer Willis, Lena Dunham and Liv Tyler as well as Chelsea Handler, who earlier this week bared her nips for the cause.
And whilst Miley's outfit choices may have proved that she's definitely comfortable with her body, the Wrecking Ball star recently explained her frustration over the double standards between male and female nudity. "Guys get to show their titties on the beach, why can't we?" she asked on BBC's Newsbeat. "I don't understand the double standard of life.... I feel like I'm one of the biggest feminists in the world, because I tell women to not be scared of anything."

The former Disney star has proudly bared her breasts before on various magazine covers and photo shoots, but this is the first time her nips have made their way onto social media. Late last year she posted a selfie of herself, fully clothed but clutching a rubber breast to show her support for the cause. But now it seems she has decided to “practice what she preached” with her uncensored selfie.
Despite the fact that her nude snap was taken down, the star was still keen to get the message across. In protest against Instagram's policy she posted pictures of topless women with their nipples obscured and a picture of her face superimposed over their heads. Oh Miley!
