Len Goodman Quits Dancing With The Stars

He's been part of the show for nineteen seasons, but now Dancing With The Stars is set to lose one of their veteran judges, Len Goodman.

Whilst promoting the British version of the show, Strictly Come Dancing, he revealed, "Next year, I'm not going to do the flying backwards and forwards - I'm not going to do the American show...I've got to have a bit of time off. Dancing with the Stars - next year is their 10th year, it's the 20th series of the show. So I think that's a nice place to stop.”

Len has sat alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli since the show's creation in 2005, so it'll be tough to see him go. However, the introduction of former professional dancer, Julianne Hough as a judge is sure to make the transition slightly smoother. And according to E! News, it was all designed with Len's departure in mind.

As for the remaining judges - Len wouldn't give anything anyway but he did joke, “I'd imagine Bruno will still do it. But he's ten years younger than me.” He continued, “Listen, let me tell you that without Strictly coming along 10 years ago when I was 60 years old – without them coming along and asking me to be one of the judges, I would never have done anything.

“I'd never have done the American show, I'd never do other little things that I've done. And so I feel a loyalty towards the BBC. I will do Strictly as long as they want me. Eventually, they will say, ‘;He's getting too old and fat now, Goodman, we'll have to get shot of him'. But all the time they would like me to do it, I will be doing it.”

However, this might not be the only shake-up designed for the next series of the hit programme. Professional dancer Cheryl Burke has been with the show since series two, but she recently told E! News that she could be hanging up her dancing shoes and slipping behind the judges desk. “This is my family. I've been a part of the show for the last decade,” she said. “I started when I was 20. I'm 30 now. If they would ask me to be a judge, I'd love to."
