Just Look At How Flawless Anna Kendrick Was At The ‘Into The Woods’ Premiere

We really need to talk about how stunning Anna Kendrick was at the world premiere for Into The Woods in New York City last night (December 8).

The actor looked breathtaking as she helped launch the big-budget Broadway-to-cinema adaptation; which arrives on Christmas Day in the US and January 9 in the UK. It's the first of three Kendrick-fronted musicals to be released in quick succession; the other two being The Last Five Years (February) and Pitch Perfect 2 (May).

Last night, the 29-year-old Tony and Oscar nominee was utterly beautiful in Narciso Rodriguez dress, accessorised with a Kate Spade New York clutch and shoes by Brian Atwood. JUST LOOK AT HER.

Kendrick plays Cinderella in the film; alongside Meryl Streep as the Witch, James Corden as the Baker, Emily Blunt as the Baker's Wife, Johnny Depp as the Wolf and Chris Pine as Cinderella's Prince. Set in the universe of several Grimm fairy tales, the plot intertwines several stories by way of the Baker and his wife, who have been cursed childless by the Witch.

Streep, Blunt and Corden were all present and correct at last night's festivities; Blunt looking gorgeous in a floral gown with translucent panels, and Corden smartly suited-up. Blunt, who became a first-time mother in February this year, was joined by partner John Krasinski and looked absolutely radiant.

Kendrick, whose livetweeting of Peter Pan Live we're still giggling at, has been impressing with an early look at her vocal work in the movie, but early whispers - published a little early considering Disney's loose embargo - have been mixed at best. While Streep and Pine have come in for praise, the direction of Rob Marshall has been criticised for not doing justice to Stephen Sondheim's original stage show. HitFix also said they wouldn't rule Streep out of next year's Oscar race; a race she is beyond familiar with, having been nominated a total of 18 times in her career.

While comparisons will inevitably be made between the film and Sondheim's source material, we can't wait to see it. The combination of Kendrick, Streep and Blunt in one film (lest we forget the last time the latter two teamed up) is too good to pass up. Just a few more weeks to wait now...
