They may have had a rocky relationship in the past, but it seems Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner have put all the drama behind them to see in the New Year together.
The notorious frenemies found themselves arguing over Justin Bieber, 20, with Selena, 22, reportedly furious that her BFF was getting so close with her on/off boyfriend. It all started back when the Come & Get It hitmaker spent the weekend at Coachella with the Jenner sisters. Whilst the trio were inseparable at the festival things soon turned sour when Selena found flirty texts from Kendall, 19, and Kylie, 17, on Justin's phone.

The texts resulted in one of the infamous Jelena splits that lasted for months, and not only did Selena unfollow the Jenners on Instagram but she reportedly labelled them “toxic” and subsequently purged them from her life. However, speaking to Ryan Seacrest last month she explained, “We were never NOT friends. All of it is for my fans. I didn't realize it was going to start that. I was just like, ‘;You know what, I'm just going to follow my fans.' I didn't know that [unfollowing] was like a thing.”
Now that's all well and good but it doesn't explain why Selena deleted all the snaps of herself and the Jenners, or the rumours that she was badmouthing them around town. It also seems odd that she would only address the Insta-incident now, when the trio are friends again. It sounds to us like someone was trying to save face...

Not that we blame Selena for being wary. After all, once Jelena got back together and the ice began to thaw between herself and the KUWTK stars it was Kendall who managed to upset the happy balance that had taken months to rebuild. In the midst of another explosive argument between the couple Justin decided to go out for an intimate dinner with the model, both knowing full well that Selena was still feeling pretty insecure about the whole flirty text saga.
In the end, however, it seems the star decided to put sisters before misters and following yet another break up with the Baby hitmaker, Selena began to rekindle her friendship with the Jenners. After singing happy birthday to Kendall and rocking up to her 19th birthday party, a source told E! News that, "All is good now," between the trio.

And whilst the Biebs may have been the cause of their arguments, there's no doubt that Selena is sending a very clear message by hanging out with one of his flirty friends. The Spring Breakers star must be feeling pretty confident to party with one of his former love interests, and only proves that the actress-turned-singer is completely over Justin.
But doesn't seem like Biebs will be too bothered by the diss, however, as he's already made plans for New Years Eve, involving none other than Hailey Baldwin. The pair have denied that they're dating and they have been friends for years, but it does seem funny that they're spending so much time together now that Justin is a single man.

The Beauty And The Beat singer has toned down his wild ways and is planning on keeping his New Year celebrations “low key,” which means he'll have more time and space to chat with Hailey! “Justin wants to have a house party for the New Year and he definitely wants it to be with a bunch of friends, but he also wants to have Hailey there,” a source told HollywoodLife. “They have decided that they want to spend New Years together, make it a little low key, but definitely spend it together.”
Even if they are “just friends” it looks like Biebs will still have bagged himself someone to kiss at midnight. Selena, however, might not be as lucky. But just in case too much champagne has been consumed, the countdown begins and Selena realises that she's got no man to hold, we're sure any old wounds caused by Kendall can be simmered down by Gigi Hadid, 19, who also headed out to Dubai with the pair.
Upon arrival the trio snapped an adorable friendship photo, with Selena captioning the image, “Pashminas and candles under the stars.” The girls have also been joined by Gigi's boyfriend Cody Simpson, 17, and model Devon Windsor, 20.
