She may have had a hit with Santa Tell Me, but Ariana Grande has revealed that far from being a fan of Father Christmas, she is “repulsed” by him.
Speaking to the Daily Star she explained that the upbeat tune in which she asks Santa for help with her love life isn't as lighthearted as it may seem. “I'm repulsed by Santa,” she admitted. “My song may sound cheerful but its really quite sardonic and depressing. I'm like saying, ‘;Santa what is your deal bro?'”
The 21-year-old went on to explain that she associates Christmas with her failed relationships - although we don't think she's being entirely reasonable by blaming Santa. “I've had my heart broken multiple times around this time of year,” she said. “I feel although it's one of the most cheerful times of the year, I see tons of heartbreak and they make movies about it. It's like a [Wham!] Last Christmas vibe.”

But whilst the Problem hitmaker may have been unlucky in love in the past, everything changed this year when she met her boyfriend, Big Sean, 26. The pair have only been dating for a few months but it seems the rapper has already begun to think about proposing. After losing his grandmother on Dec. 19, the star leant on Ariana for support and wanted to find a way to show her exactly how much she means to him.
“Sean is giving Ariana a ring for Christmas,” a source told HollywoodLife. “'He wants to show her how committed he is. I'm not sure if he's going to ask her to marry him — I don't think he even knows that yet. But he got a ring made for her. He's so in love with her. It wouldn't shock any of us if he does pop the question over the holidays because he's already talking like she's the one.”
