BRIT Awards 2015: Taylor Swift, Sam Smith And Ed Sheeran Will All Be Performing!

The Brit Awards 2015 have announced their first set of performers for next year's star-studded bash and boy does it sound like we've got one heck of a party on our hands. Those clever lot at the top have only gone and be booked the three biggest artists of the year as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith will all take to the stage at the annual ceremony, which this year will be taking place at London's 02 Arena on Wednesday 25th February.

After winning his first Brit last year, nabbing the prestigious Critics' Choice, Sam Smith has gone on to quite literally take over the entire planet with his desperately gorgeous powerhouse vocals, topping the Official Single's Chart twice in 2014 with both Money On My Mind and Stay With Me. He also boasts not only the fastest selling debut album of the year with The Lonely Hour but also the biggest selling debut album of the year – worldwide. The record is also nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 57th Grammy Awards; just two of his six nominations. Basically if Sam doesn't scoop the Best New Artist prize in February then something has gone seriously wrong.

But he may have some stiff competition in any other category. British males have dominated the charts this year and no more so than Ed Sheeran who can now boast the fastest selling and biggest selling album of the year in the UK with x and has also won his first two number one singles with Sing and Thinking Out Loud. Unbelievably, Ed has become even more successful with album number two, just when you thought that couldn't actually be possible, and baring in mind that he won two Brit Awards back in 2012, we're gong to go out on a limb and predict that February 25th will all be about one man.

And finally Taylor Swift. Possibly the most powerful and certainly gracious 25-year-old – as of last week – in the world right now. After turning her back on music streaming site Spotify following the release of her first ever pop record, the songstress proved she's more than just an incredibly masterful songmaker but also a total badass! This year really has been the year that we all, and by all we mean all of us, were fascinated by Taylor Swift; possibly the blandest pop star on paper who turned out to be the idol of the year. Before smashing records with 1989, which became the fastest selling album of the decade on The US Billboard Top 200, Taylor surprised us all during a Yahoo! Live streaming session with the undeniable pop gem of the year, Shake It Off, followed by her flawlessly crafted fifth studio record. If her performance at the 2013 Brit Awards is anything to go by then Harry Styles had better watch out.

So, just three performers announced and already we are counting down the days until the Brit Awards 2015 go live on ITV on February 25th. Nominations will be announced in January although it has already been confirmed that this year's recipient of the Critics' Choice Award is the sensationally talented James Bay, who will inevitably go on to enormous success over the next 12 months. This year Ant and Dec will be taking over from James Corden as hosts.
