Taylor Swift Becomes The First Female To Knock Herself From The Top Of The Billboard Hot 100

Just when you thought Taylor Swift couldn't possibly achieve anymore in less than a month, she goes and breaks yet another record with her new single Blank Space. The second single to be lifted from her ground breaking pop gem 1989, which became the fastest-selling album of the decade with a casual 1.287 million copies sold in its first week, has made the star the first woman in history to bump herself from No1.

Yup, Swifty is one heck of a force to be reckoned with and right now if there's a Taylor record out, we'd be holding ours back. Blank Space bumped her latest number one Shake It Off from the top of the tally to give her a third Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper. Oh, and that also makes her the only artist this year with two number one singles.

As if that wasn't enough, she also holds onto the top spot over on the Billboard 200 for a third consecutive week with 1989. The collection shifted a further 312,000 copies to fend off competition from Foo Fighters and Pink Floyd and soar past the 2 million sales mark in less then three weeks. Unbelievable! But will she be able to take on One Direction, who release their fourth studio album, Four, this week?

Despite missing out on the number one spot, the Foos still sold an impressive 190,000 copies of their latest album Sonic Highways while Pink Floyd's long awaited comeback proved to be worth the wait as 170,000 fans rushed to grab a copy of The Endless River. Garth Brooks made a strong return to the charts at number four with Man Against Machine, which also managed to break the 100,000 sales mark with 130,000 copies old while Big K.R.I.T.'s Cadlillactica starts at number five with his best first week sales to date.
