She married longtime girlfriend Sara Gilbert a little over two weeks ago and now Linda Perry shares the couple’s ultimate secrets to a successful relationship.

While chatting with PEOPLE at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday (April 13), the “What’s Up” songstress revealed honesty has been a number one priority between her and Sara.

“There’s nothing Sara is hiding from me,” Linda explained. “And there’s nothing I’ve hidden from her. That’s why it works, because it’s just like, ‘Here I am.’”

She continued, “We’ve always been pretty open with each other. I think that’s what the draw is.”

In regards to the couple’s favorite pastime, Miss Perry stated, “We love to walk. That’s our fun thing to do because of exercise, and we get to walk around L.A., and discover new things all the time.”
