There’s a burgeoning market of movies made from young adult novels and “If I Stay” just released a teaser trailer that will have you reaching for the tissues.

The forthcoming flick stars Chloe Moretz, Jamie Blackley, Mireille Enos,k Joshua Leonard and Lauren Lee Smith and is slated to hit theaters August 22nd.

Based on the 2009 Gayle Forman book, the story centers on a young female cellist named Mia who scores an acceptance letter from the highly-coveted Julliard School.

However, when she ends up in a coma following her family’s car crash, Mia ends up living her life in an existential out-of-body experience in which she is forced to watch her world continue, including her boyfriend Adam.
