Jennifer Lopez Joins Cast of “Home”

She’s always up for a challenge, and Jennifer Lopez just signed on to lend her voice to the forthcoming animated feature “Home.”

The “Jenny From The Block” songstress joins an impressive roster that includes Jim Parsons, Rihanna, and Steve Martin, and the film will be based on the critically-lauded book “The True Meaning of Smekday” by Adam Rex.

DreamWorks Animation has announced a November 26th, 2014 release date, and production on the project will begin next year.

Per a report from The Wrap, "Martin will voice Captain Smek, leader of the overly optimistic alien race known as the Boov, who take over Earth and begin to relocate the human race — convinced they’re doing them a big favor. Rihanna will voice a resourceful girl who avoids capture and unwittingly becomes the accomplice of a banished Boov. Lopez will play the girl's mother."
