Getting some major starpower on board, "Book of Life" added Christina Applegate, Diego Luna, Zoe Saldana, and Channing Tatum to its vocal cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the animated flick is described as an action-adventure "Romeo and Juliet" style love story set against the backdrop of a Mexican Day of the Dead.

Produced by Guillermo del Toro, the movie is written and directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez and also includes Eugenio Derbez, Placido Domingo, Hector Elizondo, Gabriel Iglesias, and Cheech Marin in the cast.

In addition to acting talent, the film will feature musical numbers, with popular recording artists reportedly performing new songs and remakes of existing songs for the flick.
