With Angelina Jolie serving as director, “Unbroken” is already getting all kinds of media interest and industry buzz.

And now “On the Road” hunk Garrett Hedlund has joined the film’s cast, which already includes Jack O’Connell, Domhnall Gleeson, and Finn Wittrock.

As an added bonus Mr. Hedlund will reunite with the “Inside Llweyn Davis” writing team of Joel and Ethan Coen who serve as screenwriters for the flick (based on the bestseller by Laura Hillendbrand).

Per the synopsis, “Unbroken is a chronicle of the life of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who was taken prisoner by Japanese forces during World War II.”
