Though most expected the news, Bruno Mars was officially announced as the Super Bowl halftime performer on Sunday (September 8).
The "Lazy Song" crooner, the NFL and show sponsor Pepsi made the announcement via Twitter.
Excited for the opportunity, Mars tweeted “AWWWWWWWW SHHHHH*****EEEEETTTTT #PepsiSBHalftime" and added “WE’RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!!! #PepsiSBHalftime.”
Super Bowl 48 takes place on Sunday, February 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
