“The Avengers: Age of Ultron” snagged a new cast member. On Thursday (August 29), Marvel announced that James Spader joins the cast to portray Ultron.

The Emmy-winning actor plays the villain who battles the Avengers for ultimate control of the world.

Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner are expected to return for the action-packed sequel.

The Joss Whedeon-directed flick hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
