While celebrities often catch a break for their drug abuse arrests, it seems tax evasion is a whole different ballgame. Just ask Lauryn Hill.

The “That Thing” songstress just checked in to a federal prison in Connecticut where she’ll serve three months for failing to cut Uncle Sam in on her earnings.

Hill will stay with the general population at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, CT, said to be a “minimum security type facility.”

The prison stint came after Lauryn pled guilty to three counts of tax evasion from 2005-07 involving $1.8 million in earnings.
